Director of Marketing & Communications – EMEA

Job summary:

The Director of Marketing & Communications – EMEA supports all major elements of the company’s global and regional internal and external marketing and communications strategies.

Internal responsibilities focus on objectives such as raising employee engagement levels by supporting campaigns that inform and inspire staff to contribute to company growth, and leading and managing executive communication initiatives that establish meaningful dialog between staff and senior leaders.

External responsibilities focus on objectives such as raising company and regional eminence through the support of media relations, events and conferences, speaking engagements and other activities aimed at building BCD Travel’s reputation as a leader in the travel industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creates and distributes key EMEA-wide internal communications that raise employee engagement levels by informing and inspiring staff to contribute to company growth, and that establish meaningful dialog between staff and senior leaders.
  • Supports external communication needs globally with a focus on the EMEA region and its senior executive team, including securing and/or supporting industry speaking and media opportunities aimed at building the company’s public reputation and brand.
  • Creates, supports and markets customer communications and publications, with a focus on the EMEA region.
  • Supports the global and multi-national events function, working primarily on European-based events and conferences. Primary responsibilities include working with executive stakeholders to develop event objectives and meeting content, and working with events staff to ensure impactful, successful events.
  • Drives alignment among the global marketing & communications team and the EMEA divisional marketing teams within the EMEA region.
  • Creates and carries out marketing strategies that promote the BCD Travel brand and generate sales leads at EMEA and global levels.
  • Develops and executes localized (divisional or region-specific) action plans to support EMEA-region initiatives.

Qualifications & Competences:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a Marketing & Communication position within an international environment, preferably Business Services
  • Excellent English language skills with fluency in a second major European language
  • Competent in Microsoft office environment (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and in usage of web-based and other communication tools
  • Proven project management skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Accurate, good organizational skills
  • Fulltime availability
  • Willingness to travel: 25% of time.
